Guild Wars 2 | An Expansion in 2015? | MMORPG ›

There’s going to be a Guild Wars 2 expansion in 2015. How do I know? I read it on the Internet!

OK, you need a little more than that to go on. What if I told you (Morpheus voice) the place I read it wasn’t some random forum but on the investment brief for NCSoft from a Korean securities firm?

I’ve been following the statements put out by KDB Daewoo Securities for some time now, and they’re generally informative and accurate regarding the South Korea-based NCSoft’s plans. I say “generally” because one from early 2013 said that there would be a Guild Wars 2 expansion in the second half of 2013, and we can see how that prediction turned out.

So when I was looking through the most recent brief, and saw this at the end:

“However, NCsoft is scheduled to launch an expansion pack for Guild Wars 2 in the US and Europe in 2015.”

I thought “Yay!” And also “Well…”

WIP! This is a request from my good friend, Shu! He had an idea of making an attack on Lion’s Arch scene based on another scene from FFIX.

FFIX is one of our all-time favorite games, so we often find ourselves making reference to it with our characters. This one is based on the scene where Zidane rescues Garnet from Alexander crumbling to the ground. XP It was hard to find any stills, so I ended up using a grainy youtube video for some of the inspiration haha…

But anyhow I’m taking this as an excuse to practice with Krita. For fire effects I’ll most likely use Photoshop.

Ooh! Also a FFIX fan here. Looking forward to seeing this finished! :)

For those who do not want to do the LA Events, fail, retry, fail, etc until you finally face Scarlet in the final fight, listen here!

You can skip everything and go straight to it by heading -here- on the map.

However, this requires one of the Spinal Backpacks! Any level! Blue, Green, etc. Doesn’t matter!

I only ask you do NOT post Spoilers of what happens! It is one of the most awesome things ANet has ever done, and everyone deserves to see it for themselves!

Just signal boosting this since I forgot to reblog it the first time.

Living Story Season One: Overall

It was okay.

The first living story arc is a mixed bag for me. I didn’t love it, I didn’t hate it, it was just passable. Scarlet took awhile to grow into a real villain for me, and little things that fleshed out her character, such as her journal or her hidden lair should’ve come earlier.

I pretty much agree with all of this, especially the comparison with story as presented in FFXIV. I’m also looking towards Living Story Season 2 hoping that maybe they’ve learned some things from this experiment and they can implement more permanence to the Living Story, since that seems to remain their idea for content releases.

I know many people are guessing on new areas opening up with the events in the last cut scene, and I hope for this, too. It would be a step in the right direction, IMHO.
