I’m really not sure how pre-purchases work from retailers other than ANet. 

What version of the game did you buy — was it a boxed copy or a direct download? Did you get a game key code when you bought it? If so, you can go to register.guildwars2.com, create an account and register using that key. Then you can download the client from the GW2 site and will be assured the head start. 

If you don’t have a key, I don’t have a 100% answer about head start. I looked it up, and saw these discussions on forums:
