Check out this lore theory written and submitted by danton-damnark!
So what do you guys think? I know some folks have discussed the role and viewpoint of the Tyrian gods before. But I am also curious about the gods (and their current silence) vs. the elder dragons!
1 BE, Mouvelian calendar -Abaddon defies the other 5 Human Gods and gives the power of magic to the races of Tyria. Abaddon is imprisoned for this in the Realm of Torment.
0 BE, Mouvelian calendar - The 5 Human Gods create the Bloodstones in order to control the magic given to the races. Shortly after, the Gods leave Tyria. Never to return.
Why? Why would the Gods leave Tyria after they successfully restricted magic?
1075 AE, Mouvelian Calendar - Kormir sacarfices herself to prevent Abaddon from destroying the entire world. In the process, she becomes the new God of Truth and gains all of Abaddon’s knowledge.
But even as a new God, she does not show herself nor stay in the mortal realm. But why?
1078 AE, Mouvelian Calendar - Primordus’ general, known then as The Great Destroyer appears and drives the Asura from the underground. The Heroes of Tyria defeat this general, halting Primordus’ awakening by ~50 years.
1120 AE, Mouvelian calendar - Primordus awakens.
1319 AE, Mouvelian calendar - Founding of Destiny’s Edge. Formed by the original 6 members.
1325 AE, Mouvelian calendar (Present day in Guild Wars 2) - The Asura learn that the Elder Dragons feed on magic and are exhausting it at a phenomenal rate.
The 5 True Gods left Tyria soon after Abaddon gave magic to the mortals, but not before making the Bloodstones to control it.
Soon after Kralkatorrik (The Crystal Dragon) awoke, it was learned that the Dragons consume magic.
The question is:
Did the Six Gods know?
